Each All Souls' tide, a wronged servant walks from the vicarage to her grave.

The churchyard at St Lawrence's is open to visit. The old vicarage next to it is a private home.
Ahead is Abbots Langley church, where a mistreated servant who died in 1914 is said to walk each November from the vicarage to her grave.
Mary Anne Trebble, a servant at Abbots Langley vicarage, died in 1914 at the age of seventy-four. Local tradition says she had been mistreated by the vicar's wife and that her death was the result. Afterwards she was said to haunt the vicarage for years: unexplained noises were heard, and the fireplace in the room where she died could never be made to work properly. The church took it seriously enough for the Bishop, Michael Furze, to perform an exorcism. She is also said to walk from the vicarage to her grave in St Lawrence's churchyard, especially around All Souls' Day in early November.
