Blinded and condemned, the giant loosed one last arrow to choose his grave.

Jack's grave, two stones set well apart, is by the churchyard gates, and his legend is displayed in the porch. The church is usually open for visitors.
Ahead is Weston church, where two stones in the churchyard are said to mark the grave of a giant outlaw who shot his final arrow all the way from Baldock.
Weston's legendary giant, Jack o' Legs, was a Robin Hood figure who lived in a wood near the Great North Road, robbing rich travellers and helping the poor. He took particular aim at the Baldock bakers, who gave short measure, and would overturn their stalls on market day. The bakers finally trapped him, put out his eyes and prepared to hang him. As a last wish he asked for his bow and swore to be buried wherever his arrow fell. It flew all the way to Weston church, and two stones in the churchyard, set an enormous distance apart, are still pointed out as marking his grave.
