He died at Tewkesbury; his ghost stayed behind.

The ruined gatehouse stands in farmland on the edge of Luton. Check access before you go and don't climb on the walls.
Close by stands Someries Castle, the half-built house of a lord killed in the Wars of the Roses, who is said to haunt it still.
Someries Castle, on the edge of Luton, is not really a castle but the brick gatehouse and chapel of a great house begun by Sir John Wenlock in the mid-1400s, and one of the earliest brick buildings in England. Wenlock was killed at the Battle of Tewkesbury in 1471 during the Wars of the Roses, and his mansion was never finished. What did get built was partly pulled down in the 18th century, leaving the gatehouse standing alone. Legend says Wenlock's ghost still haunts the house he never lived to complete.
